Lets face it, spammers are smart. Sure they are annoying but they are good at something. Perhaps not with their business models but they are certainly skilled with computers and internet. That is why there is a multi-million dollar industry to prevent them.
If you have a WordPress blog you may be familiar with the Askismet filter that prevents spam comments. If you go in an check out some of the URLs that are being spammed, you might notice some from .edu domains. Hundreds of crappy message boards are installed deep within .edu domains which seemed to be popular among spammers. Although they aren’t much for conversation, you could always reply back with your own link since URL is only language spoken by many spammers anyways.
I just wanted to share this information since a lot of people feel it’s impossible to get their links on a .edu domain.
*One other plus with spam, is the occasional poetic beauty I find within lines rendered by automatic sentence and paragraph generators.
